Don't ask why i wrote bugz as the title, it's just that every time i think of these three book all i can think of are the bugz. Shivers down the spine if you ask me.
Children of the Jedi, Darksaber, and Planet of Twilight are, I think, although written by different authors, in themselves a miniature series. Children of the Jedi and Planet of Twilight by Barbara Hambly and Darksaber by Kevin J Anderson.
Children of the Jedi tells the tale of an Imperial Dreadnought, a ghost ship with no passengers or crew and yet it still has a mission, the destruction of a stronghold of long forgotten Jedi children. Luke, somehow finds himself aboard, but he is not alone. He finds himself faced with the spirit of the spirit of a Jedi who once before stopped the ship in its quest, sacrificing her life in the process.
Darksaber brings into light some of the same character as are used in Children of the Jedi, but using a different story. The Hutts are busily trying to reconstruct the original Death Star, may the force be with them. While remnants of the Empire are still alive and kicking, Grand Admiral Tharwn's old second and Daala, the only female ever to rise in the Empire due to the Emperors extreme sexism, death to the Emperor, the only problem being he's already dead. Okay, pants. Anyway so they are all asking for it. I'm pretty sure they get it as well.
Planet of Twilight concludes the unofficial series started with Children of the Jedi. Luke leaves searching for his long lost love, Callista, some people say his true love, but hay if that were true would he not still be waiting for her? Lots of nasty little bugs and then some. And a captive Princess Leia. All interesting stuff.
